For those who want to hear about the heroin epidemic, 20/20 tonight is airing a special about the heroin epidemic in America. It is hosted by David Muir. This is one of the quality specials that you might watch to have insight into the epidemic here in the US. It is important information to have.

Well I guess no one watched it, but it was a really good documentary on heroin use and abuse. One of the title characters, a really likeable young man named Aaron dies. It mostly talked about the state of New Hampshire and the shortage of beds in the state. It was chilling to watch really. So many devastated lives.

I would like to watch the documentary. Initiatives like these are laudable and should be encouraged. It has to be stated that there is a missing prong in the whole strategy against heroin and drug addiction in general. What are the reasons behind the addiction? Who supplies the drugs? Who are most vulnerable and when do they start heroin abuse? What are law enforcement agencies doing about it? There needs to be a jointed effort by various agencies to combat addiction.

Sorry I missed this. I didn't go online for a while and it is only now that I read this post. Anyway, thanks for that information @kgord. Perhaps I can watch it on Youtube or some other site. I hope that someone has uploaded the documentary.

I did watch this special and found it pretty informative. They didn't sugarcoat anything. For people who want to watch it online, ABC usually posts full episodes of 20/20 on their website one week after they air.

Yeah, I find it quite heartbreaking actually. It seems like even when people are clean, they have a very hard time when they are looking to stay that way. I think that if I lived in NEw Hampshire I would be begging the legislature for more rehab facilities. This is one of the ways that people can help.
