There are many folks that love sports cars, super bikes and high speeds. It seems to be a growing trend in these decadent times we live in. I'm not ashamed to say, that I also have a bit of a fetish for exclusive Italian sports cars that I can barely afford. It's the obvious sex appeal combined with the adrenaline rush of driving at breakneck speeds through a neon-lit city. This is something that can turn from a mere addiction into a lifestyle choice, and an expensive one at that. Are fast cars and high speeds appealing to you? Do you feel that you could ever be addicted?
Fast cars and high speeds don't have much of an appeal to me - but I feel like growing up, all the guys I knew from about age 18 and up were all about cars and fast speeds until a certain age. I think it's that age of invincibility for a while there -- you don't realize that actions have consequences and that speeding is dangerous and so forth. I think it's just a consequence of age and to a certain degree immaturity.
It is not a thing of mine, but I think many men get into it as a power source and adrenalin rush. I think many have killed themselves because of it, such as James Dean. So, it could be considered a deadly addiction.
I am not into those fast car or car racing things. I can appreciate the looks of those sports cars as some are really made to be very attractive and/or artistic. Any addiction can be deadly such as addiction in these kind of vehicles.
Fast cars and high speeds are not really appealing to me. But I noticed that men are more likely to be addicted or interested in such things. Cars are like the toys for boys. Even my one year old son loves cars already. So maybe it is an innate thing? Like makeup and clothes are girls' things. Cars and other related concepts like racing and accessories are for boys. My husband loves cars. He also drives really fast. Good thing he doesn't drive like that now as we have a son already. But when he's with his friends or even just me, he really drives fast. It is kind of scary even though he is a great driver.
Fast cars do have an appeal to me, maybe not so much to expensive cars but I like most of the Japanese/ some Italian cars that are around. Still drive my trusty MR2 turbo around hehe.
Absolutely true that those people who are lovers of expensive cars and at the same time drives too fast wants to seek the attention and attraction of other people. Well I am not a fan of these things. I still love those who have simple cars and drives carefully on the streets. And I admire those people who had good presence of mind while driving.
Wouldn't get addicted, no, and I can't say I know anyone who's an out-and-out addict, but the closest would probably be my uncle. He absolutely loves his sports car, and every time I see him - which is, admittedly, not that often - he's got a different one. He's not super rich, he just sells the old one and picks up something new. I don't think he's a speed demon or anything, he just likes having super-shiny cars at his disposal. I don't have to worry about it anymore, but back when I was living with my parents there was a loooooong main road running through the centre of town, and the stretch near our house was absolutely perfect for drag racing. If I was out late at night with friends we'd have to be careful of that one strip, 'cause there were idiots racing on it almost every evening. Fair number of crashes there, too, which isn't surprising.
