My niece has been clean for a year now from methamphetamine. Does the go go go keep going as an after effect? Her attention span is so short! Only 27 been using since 17.

It could be something else like A.D.H.D. I know I did meth off and on for about 20 year's and haven't touched the stuff in about 6 month's but still on average sleep 3 hour's a night, up from 2 but ya I just keep going.I crash hard like once a week for 7 hour's or so

I'm sorry that I don't have an answer to your question, @Anothermother. But I agree with @True concern that it could be ADHD. Has she ever been diagnosed with that?

Do you remember what she was like before she started using at 17? Like @True concern said, it sounds a lot like ADHD. I hope that is the case and she’s able to get help and not relapse to the only thing that “helps” her!

Hi @Shrei, welcome to the forum. Please know you are not alone! Have you looked into going to meetings either in person or online? I’m glad you are sharing with us, even if you’re scared to tell anyone else. Have you considered seeing an addiction specialist? One day I hope you’re able to tell your doctor, but I know how scary that can be.

I tagged you in a post that is very similar to your situation. Lots of amazing advice on there about withdrawal and tapering.

You have nothing to be embarrassed about, @Shrei. Addiction isn't a moral failing; it's a disease. And millions of people suffer from the same disease. You are not a bad person; you are a sick person. There's a huge difference, my dear. Go check out that thread that @lonewolves tagged you in. I replied to you in there, too.

We're here for you. And we care.
