I have been on disability for many years due to more life threatening problems than you can imagine. I have been prescribed Oxycodone 10/325 for the past 7 years along with Oxycontin 30 mg. I have degenerative disc disease, severe arthritis in my back, fibromyalgia, 2 damaged nerves in my neck, I have a tumor on my spine, I have also suffered 7 major strokes with the last one putting me in a coma, I have had 2 heart attacks, I have a brain hemorrhage that fractured my skull, I have an inoperable brain tumor the size of a stamp which luckily is benign, I had heart surgery to repair a hole in my heart and during the procedure they bumped a nerve in my leg and I woke up screaming in pain. They gave me 4 times the adult dosage of medication to put me under but they were unsuccessful and I had to endure heart surgery wide awake. I have always been good about my medications, usually taking far less than what was needed, instead opting for the pain instead of depending on the pills. Then I was hospitalized again in Nov of 2015 and could not take the pain anymore. A friend suggested that the quickest way to get relief was to snort the Oxycodone. I have been doing that since Nov and want to stop but don't know how. My body has been completely ravaged by major life ending illnesses and I shouldn't even be here. I rarely even take my Oxycontin anymore. I was wondering if there was a way to use the Oxycontin regularly along with my Oxycodone to come down from the snorting withdrawls because I am afraid I go to my doctor that I will lose my prescriptions and without them I cannot even walk. I am not dependent on the drug as I have about 17 more Oxycontin than I should because I haven't been taking them. If I take them and take the Oxycodone, will my body go through any withdrwls?? I am scared to death and with my health I really don't want to die this way. I only snort about 3 or 4 - 10/325 a day and I have no sinus pain, no loss of smell, no tenderness. The only issue is, I flush regularly but can't seem to clear my right nostril although I have no breathing issues. I need some help please!!!! I have 4 children and I don't want them to see their dad who went through so much to live, die this way..........

Oh my! You @truth walker have been through so much pain and life threatening experiences. Remember it is a miracle you are still alive but you need to stop snorting. I would suggest hemp oil use than snorting; many people have used this and it has shrunk and disappeared tumors in their brain and other parts of the body.

Try to stay positive there is hope for your complete healing, quit substances, meditate and live everyday being grateful for life and health.

I wish you well and will pray for your complete recovery.
  3. Jesus Christ... I'd go get a second opinion from another doctor before going to the one who writes your scripts. Possibly a doctor who specializes in drug abuse/rehab itself.

@truth walker... I would suggest you go to an addiction specialist. They can assess your situation and recommend the best course of treatment. You can find a doctor on the American Board of Addiction Medicine website. Here's the link:
