Hey I have been drinking heavily for the past month and a half and now it is has gotten so bad that wine does not effect me like it used to. Then the last couple of days I have tried vodka and wine mixed together. How do you get sober quick so I can save my life and liver at the same time I am begging.

@jmarioneaux... Welcome to the forums. I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues with drinking. It sounds like your body is building up a tolerance to alcohol, which is not uncommon when drinking heavily. Your body will require more and more alcohol to give you the effect you are looking for.

Getting sober is an excellent idea. Unfortunately, quitting cold turkey can be dangerous for a heavy drinker. The withdrawal symptoms can be very intense. In extreme cases, they can even be fatal. My best advice would be to see an addiction specialist, who can assess your situation and recommend the best next steps for you to take. That could mean inpatient treatment, an intensive outpatient program (IOP), support group meetings, counseling, etc. You could also try to taper off the alcohol yourself, although I think it's always better to have some supervision when doing so.

We're here to help and support you any way we can. I'm sending you positive, sober vibes, along with lots of hope and encouragement. You can do this. I know you can.
