Anger and violence is never the answer. It doesn't solve anything and is virtually a waste of time. We need to always try and channel our energy toward positive actions and thoughts.

True that some become violent when drunk and I have witnessed that several times on others. Thinking of your loved ones or people that you might hurt when under the influence of alcohol or drugs might convince or motivate you more to stop it before you can really hurt someone.

Alcohol brings out your true feelings. This really is like a truth serum. If someone has bottled up anger it's hard to control that when there drunk. I think when somebody isn't sober it's hard to control there actions if there not used to doing this in the first place.

Some people argue that addiction can actually change our personalities, literally turning us into monsters which we would never have become had we not succumb to our pathological habits. It's hard to know if this is true, but behavioral changes are something that professionals tell us to look out for in trying to determine if someone is dealing with a substance addiction or not.
