At what point is too far?

    Your friends need to be aware of the danger of excess alcohol. He is going to walk on a wrong path and you can save him. There are many stories of successful people (who were able to get rid of alcohol). Your friend such read them. It will motivate him not to relapse. You can help him. Feel free to ask for any suggestion on this forum.

    That is good if he is not drinking on regular basis.. but if he is getting over drunk in one go that is also not healthy thing.. so you should talk to your friend and just explain him that you don't have any problem with his drinking but at the same time cant see him getting hurt.

    For someone who isn't an alcoholic, there's no "safe point." They could be having a drink a night or once in a while but how long will it before they need two, then three, then more?

    It's best to take action before it's too late @OP. Talk to your friend now and try to get him to change.
