    Is it so hard to switch programs if you are being assigned to a religious one? If my beliefs are different, why should I go through double the pain in order to help myself become better?

    I don't believe this is true, getting into jail for not being a religious one it's just insane.
    It couldn't be all, if that's a private institution they could make their rules, but not the state rules.
    Sure there is something more, someone doesnt go to prison just for don't believe in god xS

    Well from what I understood from the article and the comments, he did not go to jail because he did not believe in God. He was in jail, they offered him to go to rehab, he went to rehab, got kicked out for not accepting the higher power thing, and then because he was not in rehab anymore they sent him back to jail.

    Did I get anything wrong?
