Hello there! I am currently doing a class project in which we are discussing the way a family copes when their adolescent child is abusing the use of alcohol. I would like to gain more insight as to better help my community. If you have a child that is or has abused alcohol in the past, I would really appreciate your help. You can directly answer below or inbox me personally. Thank you in advanced for your time and help. Q1: How do you think the alcohol abuse affected your relationships? Q2: Do you feel there were any factors that could have prevented the alcohol abuse? Q3: What helped you and your family overcome and adapt to your stressor situation?
@MV1990 hi there. 1. Put distance between us. 2. Hmm. Yes, not divorcing could have helped... 3. Kind of still there... I have found the book Beyond Addiction: How Science and Kindness Helps People Change helps a lot of parents with addicted children. Hope this helps!
