Many recovering addicts struggle with the possibility of relapse. Some are on medication in rehab centres where they undergo counselling sessions before they come back to the society. A gnawing concern is that some of them take medications at the same time abuse drugs that are supposed to be counteracting those medications. I wonder whether there are any strange occurrences associated with such individuals.

I have never heard of such cases but just thinking about it makes me realize that it is a possibility and that there are most likely people who do this. Especially given the fact that some of these people are easily addicted to things, they wouldn't be in rehab if they weren't. So I can see them becoming addicted to the medication that is supposed to be helping them avoid that quite easily. Its up to the local authorities and suppliers of this medication to make sure their clients/patients aren't abusing them. Rehab centers should have strict security when it comes to that kind of thing, for the sake of their patients.

Hopefully someone here can elaborate on this for us as it is something I have never considered, but could be concerning.
