Hello again!!! I am a huge fan of Demi Lovato. She has reported being addicted to cocaine and oxycontin in the past. Just recently, she's released a song called "Sober". Now, there's a particular story going around that she overdosed on heroin. Thankfully she's doing better. However, the friend who gave her Narcan never said that she OD on heroin. It is commonly used for that drug, but it's not the only drug it works for. Those closest to her said that heroin was not involved. I did a little digging. Narcan is also used for oxycontin, vicodin and fentanyl . It does not work on cocaine, benzos or alcohol. Cross out cocaine and heroin. I believe that she overdosed on oxycontin. I also think she has relapsed on alcohol as well. One member on Youtube member posted a video saying it was all a hoax and this was just a publicity stunt for album sells. He then said that people who have been sober for 6 years don't relapse and this "stunt" is linked to the illuminati and satan worshipping. I know that Hollywood is a very strange place and celebrities sell their soul, etc... I do not think that this event has anything to do with it. On a side note, drugs were not found in the house. If someone is on the verge of dying and there's illegal use of drugs going on, I would think that those around her got rid of them by flushing them down the toilet. What are your thoughts?

most likely an oxycontin overdose. It is actually stronger than heroin unless the heroin is cut with fentanyl or even worse Carfentanil but i believe you are correct the people around her ditched what ever was left, and considering Narcan was used i dont think its the"illuminati" unless all of a sudden they are trying to save lives which we alp know isnt the case

What's upsetting me is the fact that she doesn't want to admit what she was taking (I guess the fear of getting in trouble with the law). It just causes more speculation and more people will believe it was a heroin overdose. Another thing that's pissing me off is how many people are just calling her a junkie. She has done a lot for other people and she's human just like anyone else. I've noticed that some don't care about others until it happens to someone they know or love. Even my boyfriend said he doesn't care to talk about it. So I'm just brushing him off as well.

Legally they cant charge her with any crime unless they found the substance on her, however admission to whatever it was can affect her public image.YES i agree many people claim to care but really dont unless its them or someone they know. Its very sad how people are giving up on one another and many people are just hateful like calling her a junkie. No body is immune to addiction.Literally today my dr took my pain pills from me that i have been taking to walk while i wait on surgery. He said "I dont want your body to get any more addicted to the pills"He said this knowing im on bedrest waiting on surgery,i asked what do i do to be able to walk?He then said,"You dont walk on bedrest"Wow ok i thought while he spoke of the opiate epidemic and it sunk in...AnotherCold Turkey detox for me,yes on a much smaller scale but still enough to be agonizing for about 4-5 days.I was on my way out and he said "I can give you Methadone or fentanyl patches"I instantly said WTF are you kidding? He said no more pills unless its methadone so i told him keep your heroin doc i dont want it and left.My point is he cared about my use of norco being to addictive(which it is) but then turned around and offered something insanely stronger and way more addictive so doctors are absolutely fueling this epidemic,we see it time and time again.Michael jackson,Demi lovato, prince, etc and those people are famous thats why we know of them but those of us that are not famous you never hear about.Sorry i went way off track here.Stay Strong and God Bless

There's another story floating around that a nurse told a source methamphetamine was in the mix. Still doesn't explain her overdose. I know it's used for ADHD and obesity. Demi Lovato also struggled with her weight and mentioned bulimia was part of her life. I'm sticking with the oxycontin along with the methamphetamine (if this is even true to begin with). Your doctor is a nutcase. He doesn't want you to get addicted to pills but yet, he wants to prescribe something that's even worse? You did the right thing by turning it down. I'm proud of you. Everybody from America knows someone who is addicted to drugs or alcohol or both. My boyfriend called me and told me he's not surprised to the news about Demi. However, it's a big deal to me because I like her as a human being.

Yes i couldnt believe he offered me drugs so much stronger while claiming to be concerned about addiction.Im ok with it honestly because i HATE opiates but i dont know how im going to be able to walk without something until surgery so im happy no more pills, but confused on how to walk now,i mean i have to get out of bed to go to the restroom and sjowering is very difficult because it is slippery so potentially i could get very hurt in the shower, but i was not taking the methadone or fentanyl for no reason.Im just worried about being able to move around to help my elderly parents and brother who has a learning disability, but God will help me figure it out.4-5 days of physical withdrawl will begin around 4 pm this afternoon so Once again here i go,and all because i just wanted to be able to move just enough to take care of my family....I will Overcome but probably will suffer till at least Monday then i wait on surgery where he then said he will give the pain meds back, however i will suffer until my leg heals *uck the pain pills

Unfortunately, that's all part of the stigma that's still attached to addiction. We're making progress in gradually eliminating the stigma, but it's still there. Maybe someday it won't be.

I know that something triggered her to relapse recently. No one really knows what that trigger is. I'll have to do my research to figure it out. The song Sober is a huge clue and gives me an exact time frame. I will also try to reach out to her and hopefully help her recover

Ok I have a theory. It's not 100% fool proof:

I found an article (dated March 15th) of Demi Lovato speaking out about her 6 year sobriety. On the page, there's a screenshot of the post on her twitter...

    upload_2018-7-25_20-0-5.png
    https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/demi-lovato-celebrates-six-years-sobriety/

I've been following Demi on Instagram for a long time, but nothing out of the ordinary. Her twitter, however, has some red flags:

    1. Demi fractured her foot upload_2018-7-25_20-7-7.png
    2. Demi got sick with swollen vocal cords upload_2018-7-25_20-8-0.png
Here's what I think happened. Demi fractured her foot and went to the doctor. She was probably prescribed some narcotics for pain. She also became sick over a month later and maybe she was given even more medication. Now the same day she hurt her foot, she was posting some really angry post to someone, but wouldn't mention who
    upload_2018-7-25_20-14-11.png
Her emotional and physical state may have caused her relapsed. I'm very fascinated in knowing the reason because I'm a bit of an investigator. The fans deserve the truth and she's been so open and honest about her struggles. What do you guys think about this simple theory?

@RecoveringLife1 I truly admire your commitment to reaching out to this celebrity,I have done it myself.I don't know if anyone knows of Bruno Mars but I had many conversations with him while he struggled with something similar. It's not easy and beware the "Fakes"act wise and its not as easy as verifying their real just by that blue check mark.....I know from experience because I at one time had a verified act myself

It really depends on when you've tried to reach out to this celebrity. If it was a couple of years ago, social media wasn't that good at verifying celebrity accounts. It was a longer process and the requirements weren't enough. I can tell when someone's account is fake. Surely you've watched the show "Catfish". I've tried to talk to a couple of celebrities before and never got a reply back. Most don't just respond to people they don't know. There's a lot of things that verifies Demi's account.

    1. Some of her posts are about mental disorder awareness, LGBT rights and "saving earth". If someone was really trying to impersonate her, I guarantee you they wouldn't mention any of these things on their fake account.
    2. She uses the same names on her social media accounts and majority of her pictures and videos are different on each account. A fake Demi would use the same pictures and videos all of the time or take them from her official page. I've checked a lot of pages with her name
    3. Celebrities going live on their page!!! This is the easiest and best way to verify their page. Going live is like Skype (One sided).
    4. In order to verify certain accounts, you have to show a picture of you holding your driver's license. If I was able to reach Demi, I would Skype with her upon talking to her through messages or at least make arrangements to meet her in person at a concert or something public (hopefully back stage) lol

Yes I made contact about 4-5 year's ago,and back then most fake accts would post picture for picture word for word of the real person,I don't know anymore I don't follow it anymore but even back then I was only talking to celebrities with addiction problem's and i have met plenty of rock bands as my friend at the time had a recording studio and they all do a lot of drug's

I know back then, it was best to write letters with a pen and paper and send them through the mail. That's probably what I'll do as well. I'll type a letter and mail it to her fan base location. I'll also mention my theory of her getting injured and sick. That I understand and it's ok to take medication when you're in excruciating pain. Maybe I'll draw a picture of her. I've watched people in my life while on drugs go down hill and seen the show Intervention and Mom. Injections may be better for her in case she gets hurt or sick and even for her bipolar disorder. That way, she won't have access to pills

I would really like everyone's insight on why she may have relapsed so that her team can prevent further damage to her and so that members on this site can learn from it

I was also very sad to hear about this. I just relapsed in February after I hit my 4 year soberversary from hard drugs, so I can relate a lot. I also struggle with mental illness, but haven’t been diagnosed with bipolar like Demi has. I think you’re definitely onto something though, it really seems like the broken foot was the start of it. So sad.

I'm so sorry to hear about you relapsing. The important thing is to learn from your triggers. I know that insurance covers rehab. If you have the opportunity to go, please take advantage of it. I was just watching The Talk and people close to Demi was trying to give her an Intervention before the overdose, but she shut everyone out. This relapse was definitely a wake up call. There's also a mention of her going to rehab if she hasn't started yet.
