For one to become addicted, there is usually an entry point. For example, the entry point of most drugs is cigarettes. A person soon finds that the kick is not strong enough and graduates to marijuana then to cocaine. Recovery would become easier if one goes down memory lane and samples the drugs that be used before in reverse order till the entry point drug. This should be done over a brief period. The person will reflect and will never be the same again when they remember the glorious selves before they started off.

Right. Remembering those days that they have not been into addiction can also serve as their motivation. It is like wanting your life back when it was still in order or not yet destroyed by addiction.

The only reverse order I would suggest is reversing to your clean self; when you never knew any substances. This is the best memory lane I can think of for someone who feels wants to sample every kind of highness in existence.
