We appreciate you, too, Arthur!
Also, I fixed that message you screwed up.
@True concern it is a difficult situation to be in.... you want to be there for your family, but are powerless to keep your uncle out... and that def sucks. i wish i had some great advice... acceptance will help YOU.... so you don't have to go around with all that rage... you only have power over so much...
i pray that your uncle will go. GO!! on his own accord, wherever.. but not at your place anymore. that's my prayer.
i'm so glad you are here. you have such a good heart... don't let anger squash it
big hug to you!!!
Interesting article from the BBC...
Dry January: Does it lead to binge-drinking in February?
It might... but I'd like to believe that those who complete Dry January may notice more positive things about their abstinence and perhaps cut back or maybe even quit... At least, this is my hope.
I just realized I was in dry January of 2019 and didn't know it. But I was in. And dry may too. I'm gonna come up with a catchy name for all of em.
Like next month I'm starting no juice July.
I'm currently in junkie free June
Idk, I'm gonna come up with catchy names phrases.
I do like no juice July.
@Joshstillclean yes, the names are great! would love to hear more!
I failed the last oneI will not fail the next
How about Dry July??
Do the best you can... it's a journey, remember?
Hope you are having a great day!
Progress, not perfection.
Those two go together well.
I'm on day three of Dry July now. I actually just turned down an invitation to a party tonight because I know there will be drinking there. Even though I know I wouldn't drink, I don't trust myself around a lot of people smoking pot. I just don't. I can easily see myself giving in to that.
So i'm at home for the holiday. First time in a very long time and thats ok with me.
Sounds like a great decision, @Joshstillclean. Recognizing your limitations/triggers is a huge part of staying clean. Sometimes, it's just not worth taking a chance. Proud of you!
There's this also. And it didn't occur to me until right now...
So I decided to share it because I know a lot of people will be partying tonight and having some drinks, smoking some weed....
HANGOVERS SUCK! And its the middle of the week. Don't know about everybody else but I gotta work a half day tomorrow.
So for everybody that gets drunk tonight...I told ya so.
Well I'm in other than I drank on July 1st so I think I'm disqualified
Glad you made that choice... I'm likely to be home too!! Not much into celebrating the fourth... Good for you for day 3
Nope... just start for July 2...
Won't be me. I hate drunk me. haha. I hate hangovers. I am with you on encouraging others to think twice before drinking... or smoking... play the tape through!
Ok from July second I'm in
I won't be drinking,in fact I'm not sure what I will be doing but the 4th of July is my favorite holiday. I can't help it I just love this beautiful place called America, which is probably why I follow politics and understand what party is playing what game for their own benefit, All parties do this sad pathetic thing just some more than other's, however as a nation we have always fought for something, freedom, civil rights, women right's, etc,so for me what we are currently experiencing as a nation is no different and when its all said and done we should be stronger for it.
Sorry for getting a bit political, I mean no offense
