None of these points are comparable... Heroin to methadone = Cigs to vape... really? I'm sure there have been cases where people manage to cut down completely to zero with vaping but in my experience it is (arguably) a healthier substitute. It's a lifestyle choice and I don't know about you but I like to pay for those myself.
Most people view it as a solution. A lot of people purchase those E-cigs and think "wow, I finally got away from cigarettes and all their shenanigans" not realizing that they're basically addicted again, just not to the same things. E-cigarettes are the less harmful between the two, but that doesn't mean it's a good thing.
Can you post your source? I've been smoking vape since October 2014 and I feel amazing. I haven't touched a cigarette since then and I no longer feel sick every morning, I'm not constantly coughing, I don't stink like smoke, and I can smoke this everywhere (though I still don't smoke around children). So, my perrsonal experience is that this is a lot safer than cigarettes. PLUS I know exactly what is going in the juice I buy, basically 3-4 ingredients!
I to know a few people that have stopped smoking using E-cigs. I have also heard different studies show different things about them. I'm on the fence I say if they help a person stop smoking deadly cigarettes then by all means smoke away on them. On the other hand if they are going to cause other health issues the person using should be warned of this hazard.
See, for me, that's the beauty of vaping. I've gradually been lowering the nicotine amount in my juice. I'm on 8% as of now, eventually I will be at 0% and probably will stop all together. It's more of a habit like someone biting their nails for me. Ofc the nicotine is a huge factor in it, so when I'm no longer even smoking with nicotine HOPEFULLY I should be able to quit all together. My current mindset I can't imagine what I'd do instead of smoking, maybe i'll pick up biting my nails, who knows lol
That could be a marketing strategy for e-cigarettes cause it sounds like promoting it when it was labelled "safer". I agree that it will not guarantee that a person will stop smoking, the person will just be smoking another and can also be addicted to e-cigs.
Honestly, its just replacing one addiction with another. It is still so new who's to say if it is 'safer" for all we know, its worse!
We do not know their long term effects, which can rule out whether they are safe or not. The way our bodies react to different chemicals is not the same and keeps on changing as time goes by. Until we know their long term effects, I still remain sceptical.
This is great news. Now, I just wish that they start a study on the long-term effects of e-cigarettes on people. Be it on smokers or on second-hand smokers. Just to clear up all issues regarding the use of e-cigarettes. But this news is actually great for people who had quit cigarette smoking and turned to vape as their solution. More studies please!
Well I'm not a professional, but I think that the e-cigs have the same effects of real cigarettes on long terme, of course it will not exactly the same it won't be that bad, but since e-cig produce smokes it will hurt the loungs !
The only reason it is safer is because the only chemical which you are consuming is nicotine. In a normal cigarette, there are 100+ other chemicals which are being taken in as well.
I think this is the real problem, there has been such a witch hunt in relation to tobacco that anything that makes something that looks like smoke is automatically treated as if it was.
I am a successful cigarette quitter now that I went to vaping with an e-cig. In less than a month, my teeth have whitened almost to normal on their own, I can breathe easier, my sense of smell has increased (which is not always a good thing lol) and my actual taste for things is so much better. "Safer" is not a correct word when it comes to e-cigs, although they are a safer replacement, until further notice. That also depends on the use. If you use your e-cigarette constantly, you are probably taking in more than you would if you were smoking cigarettes. It's all about moderation and learning how to keep it under control. At first, I would only vape at the same time that I would normally have a cigarette, and I would use it for the same time that it would take me to smoke a cigarette. That helped me gain control over the usage of it. I hope to kick that vape away by the end of the year and be totally nicotine free.
I heard that there is a period of adaptation, I think the reason for this is that cigarettes have other components that are also addictive. Maybe that's why the transition isn't instantaneous.
I'd honestly prefer my fiance to use e-cigs instead of smoking cigarettes for another decade. I'd give him a e-cig for Christmas, but ever since I heard about all those e-cig devices exploiting on their users faces.... I'm not so sure.
There are people that are vaping thinking that there aren't any health consequences because of that. It might be much safer then regular cigarettes but they aren't 100% safe but if they help to quit smoking it's worth while.
I don't think there's any doubt e-cigs are better than traditional cigarettes. Even with the chemicals that are in e-cigs, there are far less chemicals in e-cigs than there are in traditional cigarettes. There are something like over 2000 different chemicals used in the production of cigarettes.
Nicotine, for the most part, is really not that harmful to the human body. The problem is the smoke and the 2000 chemicals you are inhaling into your body when you smoke cigarettes. Nicotine gets a lot of the blame due to its addictive nature.
I don't believe it. In my opinion, the e-cigs are as much dangerous as the real cigars. It's just a rumor that they are safe. The most addictive peoples can use them as an alternative. It's a good tool to slowly get rid of the real cigars.
I am highly agree with that, as long as you're vaping juices without nicotine, that is the only way I could consider vaping more healthy than a normal cigarette, however it is always going to be a good option for those who really wanna quit smoking.
