The only strain of poppy seed that will get you high is from the Opium Poppy. It is not available anywhere on the North American Continent and is not the strain used on breads and rolls. Those will give what is considered a "false positive" on drug tests if you eat enough.

Opium poppy seeds are only grown in Asia and the middle east.

Yes because poppy seeds are used in Heroine, so if you get a drug test and you have had poppy seeds in the past week, it will come up positive, but there is a way for them to figure out if it was just poppy seeds or not.

Of course you will test positive (and not just because drug tests are ridiculously unreliable and notorious for false positives!). Poppyseeds contain trace amounts of opiate/opioids and in fact people have gotten high from and a few have died from them! It's called poppyseed tea, you gather a ridiculous amount up use hot water to help release some of the alkaloids and drink up. Obviously intelligent people stay away from it as it's a waste of time and money. But anyone who tells you that poppy seeds don't contain opiates is highly ill informed!

While you can't actually get any sort of buzz from the ones you find on hamburger rolls or bagels, you can still test positive for it.

If you're someone that's been eating hamburgers or poppy seed bagels daily over the years, a drug test WILL pick that up and conclude you're an opium addict.

Even though of course it wouldn't be true.
