The best way of creating a great community around you is by inspiring and encouraging people. Especially people who are trying to stop drugs, should be daily encouraged and given hope that one day they would stop. Have you ever inspired someone?

I always do that. But whether or not the person trying to stop using drugs will find the inspiration helpful is entirely up to them. Inspiring addicts to change or stay the course if they've already decided to ditch their addiction is always great but the ball rests squarely in the addict's court. They must be committed to the goal [giving up the addiction]. Inspiration would be the [motivation] they need to keep them going.

That's very true. Great change will depend on them. How ready they are to stop taking drugs.

That's a great way of getting their spirit and self confidence up. Addicts really do need to be constantly encouraged and praised and they need all the support they can get from their friends and family. Very few of them manage to go through the great challenge of getting themselves clean all by themselves.

That's a good point. When someone is first trying to quit it would be great to give them positive thoughts that it is possible, they can do it.

Sometimes I feel that someone who has quit doesn't want to be reminded of their addiction at all, even if you are positively pointing out how great they are doing staying off it. Do you think that is true? Maybe everyone is different.

An experiment was done on two babies. They were both fed and changed; one was completely ignored while the other was treated affectionately. The one who was treated affectionately laughed easily while the one ignored remained silent. Encouraging words and reaching out to someone is very important to assist them become better people. I do not know if I have helped a friend of mine who drinks to date. I have tried to be there for him as much as I can.

I wouldn't exactly pinpoint that I've inspired someone who has done drugs, but I was told that I've inspired quite a few.

I have inspired a few young people to start taking control of their lives and to stop relying on their parents in terms of making a living. It's time to stand up for yourself and to begin your future. The fact that people have told me they will start becoming more independent because of what I said made me very touched. To be able to touch lives is amazing, and I want to continue to do so.

Yeah I think it's better to affirm people positively instead of just constantly railing on them for their negative aspects. Being a positive influence would encourage people to get out of bad situations a lot better than just reminding them of how much they screwed up.

Yes! I try to be a great mouth full of inspiration. Words have so much power. We should all use them wisely. You should always speak your goals into existence. Positive affirmations does great things for the mind and the soul.

I like to think that I inspire some people. I know that there are people out there that inspire me, and all I can do is hope that I am paying it forward.

You are very right, it all depends with an individual inner will, because they can be encouraged all the way, on a daily basis, but if they are not willing to quit for themselves, then the inspiration is not going to do any good,

I love inspiring people and just being a positive presence for them when they need. I sometimes wish they would do the same...

I do my best to inspire people, yes. I'm not sure how good a job I do but I certainly try. One has to be open to I think. I sure do miss those that I've met throughout my life that are all inspiring. It is really quite a gift. I guess in order to be inspiring you will have to have experienced those that are.

As much as possible, I try to encourage everyone around me to be the best that they can be. Even at work, or on social media. I also try to set a good example to others especially to the younger generation like my nephews and nieces. It feels good to do good. :)
