I am going into inpatient rehab tomorrow for heroin. Been sniffing about $30 worth for s couple months. How many hours after I arrive will they start giving me medication to help with withdrawal? I am TERRIFIED.
@Mamaliz86 hi there. i'm not sure about your question. i do think that they will be aware of your concerns...but voice them when you get there. it's great you're going to treatment. you can beat this!! let us know how you're doing, ok? keep in touch. will be thinking of you!
Welcome to the community, @Mamaliz86. And congratulations on your decision to go to rehab for your heroin addiction. I'm super proud of you for doing that. As far as your question goes, I think it depends on your specific situation and the treatment center you're going to. I think the best thing for you to do is, like @Dominica said, have a conversation with the intake people at the rehab when you get there. Ask them any questions you'd like. That's your right. And make sure they explain everything to your satisfaction. It's okay to be scared, my friend. You're undertaking a big change, and change can be scary. But change can also be extremely awesome. You're taking the first step on a journey that can change your life for the better. Good luck to you, and feel free to come back and lean on us anytime you'd like. That's what we're here for. Sending you lots of hope and encouragement.
The length of time heroin withdrawal lasts depends on a variety of different factors, so it's difficult to predict exactly how long you'll experience symptoms.
