Idk what I'm doing

Discussion in 'Heroin' started by wackystack1421, Jan 16, 2017.

  1. I'm originally an alcoholic, no stranger to any drug really... but meth has been a part of my life for a while and I've been doing heroin for the last 4 months(ish). my life is falling apart and I low key don't mind if I die. I know I need to get it together but I don't want to... any advice?

@wackystack1421... I'm sorry you're feeling the way you are. My best advice to you would be to see an addiction specialist. They can assess your situation and recommend the best next steps for you. I also think seeing a therapist would be a great idea. So often addictions are caused by underlying issues that we struggle with. A good therapist can help you identify, confront, and overcome those underlying causes; and when that happens, getting clean and sober can be so much easier.

That said, you have to want to change in order to do it. I think there's at least a little part of you that wants to change your life. You said yourself that you know you need to get it together. That shows me there's a flicker inside of you that knows what you need to do.

Maybe think about going to an NA, AA, or SMART Recovery (12-step alternative) meeting, too. Being face-to-face with others who know exactly what you're going through and feeling can be very helpful and comforting.

Please know that you can find help and support here anytime you need it. So don't hesitate to come back, okay? In the meantime, I will keep good thoughts for you. I'm also sending lots of positive, healthy energy your way.
