I have recently become addicted to compressed air (computer duster). Any tips on how to stay clean?
@anon648... Welcome to the community. I'm glad you reached out.
Addiction to inhalants is the same as addiction to any other substance. If you're unable to stop and stay stopped on your own, I think the best thing would be to seek professional help. Seeing an addiction specialist would be a great start. They can evaluate your situation and recommend the best next steps. You may also want to seek out a counselor. Oftentimes there are underlying issues that contribute to someone wanting to use substances. A therapist can help you uncover those causes and help you confront and deal with them.
You can escape your addiction if you set the goal, focus on it, and are willing to work hard at it. It might not be easy, but I can guarantee that it will be worth it. Inhaling compressed air or other inhalants can be incredibly dangerous and can have long-term negative effects. It's best to stop sooner rather than later.
