Injecting vs smoking

In one post you say if done properly there is no side effect except getting high.
In another post a short while later you say you get dope sick within a day of not using.
There is a bit of a disconnect here, wouldn't getting sick also be a side effect?

It depends if you are a regular user or not. If you only use on the weekends or a couple times during a month then you will not become physically addicted. So just shooting it, as a recreational user, you will not get withdrawls. Hope that cleared things up.

From what I seen my girl and I are foil map makers but are some of the last of r group of friends to not inject. This is not fact but most of them say it's way easier to kick from slamming it that the withdrawal seems to go away faster then say one who is tootting it. Well can someone back me up on that I'm just saying this because u will get the ammonia in lungs from smoking it

I snorted oxy n heroin for a long time. I did abut 10 80MG oxys a day and when I switched to heroin I did a G to a G hlf a day. I wasn't getting high anymore so I shot it up. The high lasted longer I did less a day. I wish someone would a stopped me. I been asked by a lot of people What's it Like? Will you help me shoot Up? I say FCK NO! The effects are the same. You still feel like **** for a total seven days when you detox.

So Please don't do it. the first time I almost fell out I had to jump out the car n walk it off it scared me I said I never do that again. I did it again the next day I went down hill from there. I started to do some real cray **** from it. Like I wasn't doing crazy **** already.

U will get sick possibly puke and have a severe headache when you use heroin for the first time. Snorting it or shooting it. Don't not shoot heroin if you never did it before. Very Bad thing to do.
If you use heroin everyday for over 15 days then stop you get dope sick. That last abt 4 days.

@Joshstillclean think back my friend,to the beginning.We realized in a way we were teaching people how to get the highest.We decided it was not a good thing to be doing,I am not trying to give you a hard time believe me I'm taking a second look at my behavior as well and a lot of it I regret even here on the forum.There is the good(helping as best we can)and the bad(educating our youth how to get the best high),this is just my opinion but you shared it back about a year ago so I'm willing to bet you are like myself and forgot just for a min.

Not always the case,I snorted meth only in the beginning but there came a time where I was drunk,very drunk and I had never smoked dope before in my life,on this night there happened to be someone I looked up to with me and they stuck a needle in my vein and poof ten years of my life elapsed with a needle in my arm,oddly enough I still look up to this person as he has completely changed his life and is sober now,I can say I wish he were in my corner now but he did what he had to do to better his life and will have nothing to do with me.I no longer shoot dope,I no longer do dope regularly, I only say that because I throw my hands up sometimes and say fu*k it.....I always regret it when I do and never go on the dope chase anymore,once the bag is gone it's gone and I eventually crash in more ways than one,it puts me in a very bad mood once it's gone and I try to sleep instantly but it takes a few day's to achieve true sleep

i will no even try to defend myself i do want you to know where i was coming frim whe i said that though, and again not as a defense as i should have thoght a lot harder before posting that.
i simply want people that have no experience to not make assumptions about the way and life of an addict. posts in this thread has been mostly that it seems. and it is so horrible and we did what we did for reasons that are NEVER assumed. and that upsets me. i know the hell i lived and i dont like people havng idle converstion about why someone probaly went to needles or did this or that or anything. i will see if i can get it removed.
and i wanted to say that if you smoke heroin you are in for just as bad of a time as if you shoot it. which this person being nieve assumed was not the case.
personal hurt from being studied by medical students while in deotx as if i were sub human got in the way of off good intentions. im going to appologize if this enabled anyone or gave anylne any ideas. my entire message today is DONT DO ANY DRUG ANY KIND OF WAY!

ATTN DrugAbuse community: Heorin, taken any way, even the least addictive least harmful way you can think of is in no way not LETHAL! this habit eventually leads to death if not stopped. in every case. i say that from experience as well.

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum. Starting to read from the first page tho, I get the impression that the crisis is actually the lack in knowledge of addiction. I'm not wanting to jump in and be abrasive from the start but the thread of conversation here is repulsive. My husband is an addict, I'd never used anything harder than pot growing up. I started using with him because our marriage was falling apart and I thought if I do it too maybe he'll see it from another perspective. I've only smoked, he got to the point of slamming it tho and it happened way too fast. I saw him OD one time, I saved my husband and that experience was enough for me. Our Nation's leaders, from the top to the bottom, pocket more money from their "anti drug" campaigns than what the drug itself is worth. If anything, us addicts, should be campaigning for decriminalization. Tax the drugs. They've deemed cigarettes and alcohol socially acceptable. Those substances are drugs, as well as life threatening and abused just as often if not more than meth or heroin or crack. When there's breaking news of an FBI raid, where does that money go? It's not coming back to our community, it's not dispersed to local rehabilitation programs, or funding for the families of incarcerated loved ones. I am an addict, I have been thru some **** but I don't feel constant shame or guilt about wanting to get high. Drugs are fun. Duck it I'll say it! There's more than enough resources and funding to turn the "drug crisis" into Equal Opportunity for everyone.
