Is Shisha as harmful as any other tobacco?

I like to have sessions of shisha though not regularly. I have read several blogs concerning the effects of smoking shisha. Do I have greater chances of getting cancer and other effects of smoking tobacco?

I honestly don't know. I have seen the results of several studies on this often with conflicting results. Some studies showed that people smoking Shisha were taking in much larger volumes of smoke compared to those who smoke cigarettes. I've also seen studies which claimed it wasn't as damaging to the health because there is very little tar and nicotine contained in Shisha. What needs to be realized though, is that burning something and inhaling the fumes, regardless of what it is, is going to be damaging.

I don't think there's been enough research carried out to draw any conclusions yet. It certainly can't be good for you though and whilst it may taste good and feel smooth, there is still a fair amount of risk involved.
