Hi to all, I have recently bumped into some article that mentioned something called Krokodil, The 'Zombie Drug', and it showed a lot of pictures of the people, mainly in Russia, who became addicts. They say that if someone starts using it regularly, the life expectancy is less than a year. I will include the link here, but I have to warn you, the pictures are very explicit and extremely hard to look at. Have you ever heard of this drug and /or know someone who has an addiction? http://ilyke.com/disturbreality/wha...-the-zombie-drug-warning-extremely-nsfw/71508
I have heard about this a few times. This is really something I doubt most people in this country (US) would try. Just looking at the side effects of it would deter people away. Only having a year to live using anything isn't even worth the high.
Yeah, that drug seems dangerous enough that even those who are drug crazed would stay away. I mean it is insance to do things like bath salts, pcp, meth crack and other things...but most of them don't kill you within a year...or if you are lucky they don't!
Desomorphine, made by using sulfur scraped from matchboxes, cough medicine and paint thinner. Has a very similar effect to heroin but absolutely horrific stuff which causes necrosis very rapidly. Krokodil seems to have become quite popular in Russia. I think only those who don't care about their lives would be desperate enough to even consider this stuff.
This is really awful. It looks like a case of instant leprosy! They really have to be desperate to take this, especially knowing that they will die soon. I guess an addict cannot reason and therefor does not care.
The number of users in my area is growing, because this drug is cheap and gets you high in a very short time. It has been around for a few years, and I honestly don't know why people still consume it, as there have been many reports of deaths of the users. Not to mention what it does to your body!
I guess if people.wanted to end their lives anyway they may choose to do it this way. They obviously have already given up on life. Rather then end their lives instantly they have choose to out this way. It is very sad.
It is my first time to read or know something about this drug. Sounds to be a really dangerous one with those effects to its addicts. Thanks for including the link for further reference.
Yes, I mean...Why take a chance with a drug like this? It sounds like you would be better off with meth...I don't know why even in Russia they would be using a drug that is a death sentence. I think there would be easie ways to ge there than to use krokodil. That is just nuts.
The pics are appalling to look at. I wonder how on Earth can people still want to take this drug when the effects damage their bodies in a worse way, right? The fact that people still want to take them is quite beyond me.
I heard about this too a while back. I saw the pictures, and they were terrifying. It literally looks like someone is turning into a zombie when their flesh, limbs, and tendons to move are eaten away. Probably the most horrible drug I've ever seen, and I hope that it's outlawed so that no one can have it. I don't want things like this to come to America, the UK, or the rest of Europe, but I don't want it to hurt the Russian people either. There has to be a line in the sand, and this drug should be the line that is drawn on it.
I heard about this drug in a movie. In the movie, the drug comes from Russia. I thought it was fictional until I bumped into this thread. I will check the link provided on this thread.
I posted something about this a while ago, and to this day still baffles me how some people are still using that crap. How awful it must be for them to have to use this crap in order to try and make their life a little bit more bearable... specially when their bodies are just falling apart. So terrible I feel so sorry for those poor souls that must be so desperate to try this.
The problem is that Krokodil is basically a poorly manufactured form of Desomorphine which can be created by legal products. Cough medicine, paint thinner and red sulfur from used matchboxes is all that's needed to make it - all legally available. Prfoessionally manufactured Desomorphine is probably already outlawed in many countries.
