after going through the times of your life that you do not fully remember or have any recollection of, you have come so far if you have made it through rehab, withdrawal and you are now sitting in groups. Congratulate yourself and thank god for the second chance! Life in recovery is not easy as the battle will be forever because it will always be in the back of your mind begging you to go back to what you are used to but fight the voice and when you find yourself lonely, afraid, angry, sad or whatever it may be, just remember that life is wonderful for everyone that wants to have a good one, you too can have a family, you can be normal and you will find happiness without using, there is proof of that right here as many of us have been able to find a life that is great, family that will love you and when pressure feels like it is too much, those that love you will help you find your way. Be strong and keep sober!

Thank you for this wonderful post @tasha! :) It's truly inspiring and motivating. Life in recovery is not a smooth sailing one and there will always be humps, bumps and hindrances along the way but just keep your eyes on the road and keep on moving. The struggles will soon be considered as lessons and going through them will be worth it once you find new meaning into your life.

Our problems begin when we consume drugs and from then on it's always downhill even if we get high often. After messing up our body and head so much we need to make a huge effort to recover.

it is not always easy and positivity can sometimes be difficult to find but life on the other side is fantastic and often you would never imagine it being so but it is even through the ups and downs

It's easy for people to get frustrated especially when they don't get to taste the fruits of sobriety as soon as they expected. Things don't change overnight. It takes time. People who cut you out of their lives because of your addiction won't accept you back instantly, they'll need to get assurance that you've actually changed before they let you back into their lives. Knowing this prepares you for what will come and it will be hard [no matter what is flung your way] to get knocked down.

I agree, recovery will never be easy. It's a tough battle. Everyday, you will be faced with a lot of temptations, and you have got to stay strong and keep yourself motivated to overcome them. You can do it. I know it's hard, I know you're feeling a little scared, but trust me, nothing worth having is easy, and that applies to sobriety.

That's when the importance of a plan jumps in. Facing all those temptations and difficulties we need to have a plan, that plan will make recovery easier.
