I had an intervention yesterday because of my addiction to heroin . It started with painkillers . I need help living sober and I have 1 day clean . I am making meetings starting tomorrow . It got so bad on my last "run" that I hit the worst bottom I ever had . I want to move on and leave this life behind . I am 21 and feel as though I may never be able to leave it behind . I have no choice , I can't go back to using . It is very hard for me to picture a light at the end of the tunnel . I want more for myself and my life . I have the potential to be something great and I can't seem to face my demons and leave this all behind
@Fromthecity1... Congrats on your 1 day of sobriety. That's a fabulous accomplishment and I'm proud of you. Just take things one day at a time...or even one hour or minute at a time if you have to. Whatever keeps you moving in the right direction. You are so young with so much of your life in front of you. Beating your addiction now will mean a happier, healthier life for you. Trust me: There IS a light at the end of the tunnel, and you will find it. Go to meetings. Read up on recovery. And don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it. You don't have to do this alone. Sending you lots of positive, clean & sober vibes...and tons of encouragement and hope. You can do this. I know you can.

@Fromthecity1... Just wondering how you're doing. If you get a chance, let us know how things are going. Sending you lots of positive juju and hope.
It is great when you know your potential. Make it your strength. You are just 21 and this is the age when your brain has more power than any addiction. But heroin can lead it to dark. Don't let evil addiction to be heavy on your determination. I know it is tough but you can. You must need to go to rehab, as heroin addiction is one of the more difficult addictions to treat because of its withdrawal symptoms and cravings. But effective treatments are available there. Their controlled environment help you to recover and to deal with your cravings.
Listen your 21yrs old rite? You have no kids as far as I know. Be 21 you got so many things to experience man. Love break up falling in again or whatever. Get back to doing things that u love besides drugs. If u have a job spend ur $$ on doing exciting **** like something that gets ur adrenaline going. Most addicts I think are adrenaline junkies. U got confronted by ur family its out now so be honest with your family. They will never know how hard it is to have this kind of addiction but make them understand it. They took the time to do an intervention they will take the time to understand what u might be going thru. U have all of us on ur side so you'll never be alone. Keep it up if you get thru that third day you'll be there.
