I've recently been seeing a local news report about a young lady who apparently died due to strangulation and the primary suspects are her boyfriend and the friends they were partying with the night before she was found dead in her hotel room. Investigation revealed that the lady and her boyfriend have been constantly using party pills together with their friends every time they hanged out. It's not yet known whether the use of the party pills had something to do with the crime but looking at how young and innocent looking the young woman was made me realize that even the seemingly innocent ones can be influenced by drugs. Many lives are destroyed because of drugs, even what can be considered as a harmless party pill can be very damaging.
I just don't know why anyone would pop pills, seriously. I mean the effects are unknown. Some pills can be very hazardous if consumed that is why a prescription is required. I think it is crazy. One time I had a bad reaction by taking prescribed pills. I felt ill for several days and actually ended up in the hospital. Take pills, and live to regret it.
I never think that party drugs or pills are really harmless. It is dangerous and can cause various issues like health problems in the long run. So better to avoid these drugs and one can have a happy party without taking any of these drugs.
Sometimes you never know what's in the pill. I'm glad I stopped using e-pills there's no telling when I could have got a bad one. You get lucky sometimes but there can always be that one time. You have to be careful who you deal with and what you put in your body.
The dangers involved with being high on drugs and not knowing your actions until harm is done is on the rise. The young lady must have been strangled by someone who did not know what he was doing at the time. The company we keep either makes us or breaks us. We need to be extra careful.
Do you happen to know what kind of "party pills" they were? In the UK, on the streets the word "pills" usually refers to Ecstasy tablets. These are quite rare now but there have been reports of people making them with MCat and PMA instead of MDMA (as MDMA is hard to get hold of). PMA is also called Dr Death and is extremely dangerous.
Ecstasy is also the mostly used party pills here and although it is a highly prohibited drug, users who are mostly financially-abled teens and young professionals are still able to take a hold of them. This brings into mind the need to have tougher laws on hunting down illegal drug pushers.
Another problem with this is, as I pointed out, that MDMA (the main ingredient in Ecstasy - often referred to as pure Ecstasy) has been difficult to get hold of due to a massive seizure of the drug which happened many years ago. For this reason, it's being manufactured with other chemicals instead. In other words, it's not really Ecstasy and the chemicals now used are potentially quite dangerous. Since the decline of Ecstasy in the UK, Mephedrone has become the most popular party drug.
I've heard of that news story actually. It got me so intrigued that I searched online for any theories regarding the case. I found one suspecting that it's more than just a drug case, that maybe there's some money involved since the woman has a high position in the casino. She earns quite a lot which is said to be the reason why they killed her. I don't know the truth about that story though. Anyway, regardless, it's still crazy that these seemingly successful people used drugs. Like the victim, she's beautiful, got a nice career and even has a son, why would she want to destroy all that for just drugs? Alas, when you're addicted, you cannot think right anymore. And whatever happened in this case, one thing's for sure, drugs are a part of it.
I didn't know she had a son. But yeah, she looked like a person who wasn't into drugs. It's really hard to think how some people could destroy their seemingly perfect lives because of drugs. From the pictures they have been showing on the news, she looked young and happy with her life so no one would have guessed that she was into party pills as a tool for having fun.
Oh my goodness! I've heard that news. It's been on television for weeks now and people don't really understand what caused her death: was it because of the drug overdose or was she beaten by her boyfriend and his gang who obviously were high on ecstasy? According to police reports, she died from manual strangulation. Intoxicated as she was, she couldn't strangle herself to that extent. The shady boyfriend and his gang knew something and failed to disclose salient information to the authorities. The facts surrounding their relationship were far too disturbing and it wouldn't be surprising if indeed the boyfriend is guilty. I just hope this case would come to light. I pity that woman and her family. Loving someone caused her to abandon her values, follow her boyfriend's bidding and take drugs. She deserves justice. She didn't deserve to die that way despite what she did.
@gracer and @xTinx That's definitely a part of it. The evidences are way different from what her friends' side of the story is. Like, the manual strangulation part, then the bruises all over her body and the fact that they covered her body when they were trying to sneak her out. It's all very confusing right now since they're not telling the truth. I just hope that in time, the truth will be uncovered. After all, they not only murdered a woman, they also left her son without a mother. And to think they were her friends to begin with. Truly terrible and disgusting.
@xTinx and @Coolkidhere You know these kinds of cases really freak me out and somehow makes me become wary about people nowadays. I mean, there are a lot of cases being reported lately about friends or family members murdering each other right? One couldn't help but think, "Is there really a safe place nowadays and are the people you're with really ought to be trusted?" Either the drugs or something else deeper could have resulted to the murder but I do hope this woman and her family would eventually be given justice for what happened to her. I hope this case won't end up to be just another forgotten crime like the others before it.
@gracer I have a feeling the drugs were greatly responsible for their odd behavior. The boyfriend and his friends have been addicts for some time now and the woman had not used drugs until she started living with her boyfriend. Drugs have been circulating in the country at a faster rate than a decade ago and there certainly are a number of addicts in hiding that the police have not identified yet. It pays to be vigilant and cautious with the people you meet until you can prove they're really trustworthy.
This is a sad story but not an uncommon one which makes it even sadder. Drugs change peoples personality when they take them for long periods of time. There are probably other underlying circumstances that have not yet been revealed to the public so there were probably other reasons than just the drugs. People do not stop to think of the consequences of taking pills or any other form of drugs before they take them. They just want the feeling they get from them and that is all they care about at the time.
This situation hits home for me. I recently lost a friend in a similar way. Nine times out of ten we always have an array of pills to take while partying. I never thought of it has a problem, or as even dangerous. After years and years of doing the same drugs you start to feel like no harm can come from it. Taking pills become a regular part of you daily routine, whether partying or not. Everything thing is cool until the unsuspected happens, & the reality of the situation is you could've been the person convulsing, & choking on their own vomit.
No idea if party pills are harmless or anything. My friend uses them all the time and he seems perfectly fine after using them for quite awhile now. It's probably just a myth in my opinion...
I never heard of "party pills." What exactly are party pills? I would be afraid to take anything someone just hands me. If I don't get it from my doctor, the pharmacy or over-the-counter, I don't want it. I remember when I was in high school, some lame dude came up to me with pills in his hands offering it for me to take. He had the pills in his hands. Now having the pills in his hands alone was a turn off.
It seems to me that taking a pill in order to better enjoy a party would mean that the party is boring as snot and should be avoided. If I'm at a party and I'm that bored, I need to grab my gear and get going. I could go to a movie, go home and watch TV, or whatever. I don't need pills to make me enjoy something better. I've never really liked that kind of party anyway, (where drugs are offered) so I probably wouldn't stay long.
Party pills are basically "uppers" and could be anything from Mephedrone or Ephedrine to Amphetamine, MDMA or Ecstasy. They are usually drugs which increase your heart rate, give you extra energy and induce a feeling of euphoria. Basically, whereas substances like marijuana or heroin calm you down and relax you, party pills do the opposite.
