A lot of medicine is addictive and there are more and more prescription drugs that are getting abused. Personally I don't have a lot of experience when it comes to legal drugs like these so I wondered about them. If it's a really addictive drug, how hard is it nowadays to get a recipe from a doctor for it? Are they taking steps to prevent people from getting these medicines if they don't really need them?
These legal drugs just seem really easy to get sometimes and they may be worse then some other illegal drugs.

Legal drugs and prescription drugs are actually more dangerous because they are chemically manufactured addiction creators. Unless taken reasonably and with a purpose, prescription drugs can most certainly mess people up more than street drugs.

Unfortunately, there are a greater number of people being prescribed medication that they don't completely use these days, and instead of disposing of it in the home or returning it to the pharmacy, they hold onto the medicine in case they might need it in the future.

Sometimes, this results in people taking expired medication in the belief that it is still perfectly good, and other times it results in the use of drugs without medical supervision or recommendation.

This isn't limited just to narcotics, but even antidepressants and blood pressure medicine is sometimes taken without prescriptions.

    It needs more attention.
