If you are sure , you should keep pressing the calls to the police.Meth is very dangerous to a child. If the police still do not come out call the news media, they would love to get involved in this. Because the police 911 calls always have a recording of your calls. Which is avail to the public when requested.

In California and Nevada (and probably other states), there are now laws that if a house or apartment was being used as a spot to cook meth, the walls, floors and ceilings need to be stripped down to the studs because the chemicals used are so toxic.

Meth smoke is HIGHLY toxic. In my state, a 'meth house' can't even be re-sold until it's totally gutted and rebuilt.

    Keep calling.

I would call every news media outlet there is about this if the police won't respond. And yeah, I'll let them know I called the police about it as well since they ignored the issue.

Don't most apartments have some sort of rule enforcement against that? Did you ever get in touch with your landlord?

If the police aren't doing anything call your leasing office. There are usually rules in your lease about drug use. Breaking rules of your lease are terms for eviction, but the problem is proving your neighbor smokes drugs. The police nor your landlord have a right to search his place.

The police should be doing their job and by not doing it will face the law and be in trouble for ignoring something like this which is not good for the health of others in the apartment. I reckon you should contact your landlord and see if he can talk to the women or remove her as this is a health hazard, and can affect others as well which will not be good as second-hand smoke will affect the lungs. The women should think of others as smoking meth in the apartment is not a good thing, and shows that it can affect other people who don't want to smell that in the place they stay.

Call the landlord and have them investigate. There is a legal process behind this. Make phone calls, set appointments, or go to the office and talk to someone and tell them what you suspect. Remember it is suspicion so that means the cops can't jump kick the door down without probable cause.

Sucks to see those who are supposed to defend you don't do anything. Insist. Call the media. Do anything that lies within your power to gather all the needed attention. In the end, someone will deal with it. Nobody can withstand media. They spread information so quickly, and if they spread the negative one, eh... it's going to be rough.

Anyway... just keep insisting. You can't do anything else except probably talk to the lady in person.

More than just the smoke, you're basically living upstairs from a bomb waiting to explode. There is a reason the bomb squad has to be called in when the police discover a meth lab. Meth labs are home to many violatiale chemicals which can explode when knocked over or mixed. You need to get yourself and your fa,ily out of there immediately - go stay with a friend or relative. Then continue to call the sheriff and insist something be done. If they aren't responding...call the mayor, call local news networks, call everyone you can think of until someone listens.

Do you think she's only smoking it or actually cooking? Met smoke is highly toxic, I would call your local news channel and tell them about it. I'm sure the police would start paying attention all of a sudden.

I wish you much luck with this issue. This is very dangerous I hope something is done about this, and soon. It's beyond me why people would put others in harms way like that.

I don't think you can get second-hand meth smoke, or at least get high or severely harmed by it. But it's very dangerous because there can always be an explosion from all the meth downstairs. Ans it's such a shame the police won't do anything. You can eventually talk to your neighbors and settle the situation, maybe do some investigation, or tell the lady you will call the police if she keeps consuming meth.

call your landlord and or media outlets. The police and your landlord should be doing their job. There is no way you and your child should be subjected to the toxic effects of meth. It is not right and it is something that you should definitely report.

How do you know it's fumes or vapor from drug use? Do you recognize the smell specifically? And how do you know she gets high all day (or is it obvious)? I've never heard of anyone complaining of second-hand meth or crack smoke before, as a lot of people don't recognize it. However, if she is attempting to manufacture meth then that is an extremely dangerous process, the fumes of which can be fatal. The process itself can also cause extreme explosions if not done properly. I would tell the law that you fear she could be putting you in danger - tell them the place smells like a meth lab! They'll soon be knocking on her door (or knocking it down!).

@countrygirl... You should ask your land lady to do something about this. If she's aware of the problem, regardless of whether the guy downstairs is smoking weed or meth, she should take action. Both of those things are illegal--assuming you don't live in a state where pot has been legalized--and for your land lady to allow the smoking of either substance in her property is wrong; especially if the smoke is affecting your health. Talk to your land lady about it. She needs to put an end to it if it's causing you distress.

Help! I just moved into my apartment 3 months ago. I have been told by 4 other tenants that the girl who lived here before me was a meth addict, would " tweek 24/7 in the bathroom" and there are burns on the bathroom floor. I can smell where she SAT on the bathroom floor and it's disgusting! The smell won't go away! I've been sick since I've moved in here and no idea what to think. I live nextdoor to a woman who smokes meth and is constantly digging at her bathroom floors/walls. I lost my job from her keeping me up all night when I had to work at 5am. I am pretty disgusted with this situation. I moved into a place where meth was smoked, I'm sick now, my neighbor is a meth addict and dig's at her walls and I've lost my job. I don't have any money to move. She gets Free rent through a program at this apartment complex!!! Free rent so she can sit home and tweek all day and cause us who have to work , loose our job!

@Fedup187 i'm sorry that you have to go through this.... it's not fair... but sounds like you're going to have to figure out a way to get that money and move again for your own sanity. i mean, you can try talking to management to see what they say... maybe they can move you into a different apartment.... but it does sound like you may want a different environment.... don't give up... push on to find a new job and make the move.
