Well, that the mindset that will lead you to addiction Sonja, we try a drug because it doesn't sound too bad and before we know it we are addicted to it.
I was just reading about this in another section. The adderall is one of these smart drugs. It just makes you think you are smart. It doesn't actually do that. It is ridiculous. I think maybe I tried vivarin in high school I did do better on a test but it makes you spin around inside you mind. It didn't feel so hot. There are plenty of wisdom inducing herbs to take. Ayurvedic, Chinese, American Indian medicine and so forth all of these have things to promote wisdom. Smart drugs are just dumb.
In fact the so called smart drugs is a concept that it's not from my time, I mean, all drugs or many drugs in a way make you feel like you're the best, but that has a limited duration...
Leave to mankind to try and sell more **** that you don't need. They have a pill for everything now a days, but with a little research you can figure this one out on your own. What is the human brain made up of? It is made mostly of FAT!!! Not lean muscle, but FAT!!! Now with that being said. Why are human being told that fat is going to kill you? Do not robe your body of the natural material that it needs to function. So eat a lot of protein (meat), don't forget about the animal fat, and lots of water. The body is made mostly of water also. I eat a lot of fat and meat. And I feel great all the time with no guilt because I educate myself and don't believe the hype that the government and pharmaceutical companies are trying to sell you on. Sooner or later they are going to try and sell you a pill just so you can see properly.
That is a fact Josh, these days pretty much everything is about money and drugs are no exceptions, some countries are even run on money from drugs, that is why I always say we need to start by ourselves.
I remember there was quite a bit of hype surrounding smart drugs around the early 90's. They were available at raves alongside smart drinks but they only had short-lived success. Ecstasy pretty much took over that market as it gave people the high that they enjoyed. To this day, I haven't met a person that openly admits to taking smart drugs.
I remember watching an episode of law and order when a girl took drugs to make herself smarter because she wanted to be liked by a girl who was also smart, but without having to use drugs. I believe that eating healthy is what will give your brain a boost as well as playing games designed to help with memory.
Interesting. As far as I am aware, Adderall is amphetamine/speed so it's not much different from meth. I do know many students who have used it to be more productive and so that they could stay up studying. I also know many people who have used it when working long hours. Like you said though, it's just an illusion and the adverse effects begin to kick in eventually.
I never heard of this before. The way the world is today I think some people need it. But side effects have to be considered first. Then again you don't want a bunch of evil geniuses running around. This stuff sounds really sci-fi man. Do you know the name of this drug?
These smart drugs or cognitive enhancers include modafinil to amphetamines to methylphenidate. What these drugs do is not enhance the brain function itself, it just makes the experience of learning more pleasurable. It makes the person able to focus more. Though I'm still not sure about the safety of this yet. Drugs create imbalance in anywhere. And I don't think you would want imbalance from your brain.
I have read it may work so not a guarantee it will do the job and it can have more risks for the person than actual benefits, and hope people read about it more and don't get addicted to the drug which can be bad. It is something which can cause people to use the drug and when they can't get it the legal ways, then they will try and get the wrong way which can cause problems in their life. I reckon that people need to be careful when they do these sort of drugs and also hope people don't do anything wrong to get to the drugs.
Smart drugs? Huh, seems like people are underestimating their abilities way too much nowadays. They need a drug to cure their depression, one to make them lose weight, and another one to increase their brain capacity. Why do they seek shortcuts and not actually work to achieve something is beyond me. After all, reaching your goals after your long way is very pleasing and fulfilling. I can't imagine life without it.
Well, if it's effective, then why not? I've been using Piracetam for quite a while now and it has helped me achieve a lot more than I would have achieved. Some drugs are really wonderful if you know how to use them.
@111kg Do it at your own risk. I would never use substances in order to achieve something faster, as I love to prove myself that I am able to do things without any kind of help. Sometimes I forget others don't share this "passion" with me.
Well, when your competitors use even more powerful "brain enhancers" like Adderall or Ritalin and you have a short period of time to master a subject, you clearly need to find a way to do it without burning yourself out. I still have to work for money and study, while most of my colleagues don't have to.
