So there's a new craze lately with the so called nootropics, or smart drugs, that are advertised as being practically magic pills that enhance your memory, energy and so on, but since these types of supplements are not yet tightly regulated and inspected, a lot of it seems really shady. I have friends that are into the idea so much. What do you think, is there potential substance abuse and addiction?
I don't know much about these. Since smart drugs haven't been mentioned much there's no way to know how addictive they are. The question is what are the side effects? I'm really interested in looking into this. I doubt this is really anything different then what they give people with add to help them focus, and probably has similar side effects.
I doubt these "smart drugs" offer much potential for abuse. Their real danger is that they are unregulated and therefore could quite easily contain nothing of benefit whatsoever. So you could be literally flushing your cash down the pan.
Yes, they have a high addictive potential. And I find them pretty creepy as well. It's just like in the movies, where one has a dull, boring life, but takes some magic pills and turns into a working machine that is able to do anything. But, in turn, becomes nothing without them. I would never take one of those pills.
I haven't heard a lot about them but they sound interesting somehow, especially of you have a really bad memory like me, lol. But as you've said they are not that inspected yet so I don't think that I would take on of those pills, they sound kind of dangerous too.
I think I have mentioned this before but I was watching an episode of law and order and it was about a girl along with other students using " smart drugs" to help pass their classes. I would stay away from these drugs, period. It's things like fruits and vegetables that should be eaten as brain food. Besides, how many people have we had doing incredible things without the use of so called smart drugs? Think of people such as inventors or scientists.
I think it is possible to get addicted to it just like in any other substances or things. Hard to tell whether those kind of supplements do really work or it is just in the minds of those who are taking it. Better to eat foods that are known to be brain enhancers or healthy.
I reckon that in this day in age we are advancing and want something which will help us solve problems like a pill which can help us to be smart and we don't have to do hard work to achieve success, or money which are the things we want in this world in the quickest way. It is amazing that these sort of supplements are being released and it is just a way for the companies to make money and the person buying may do it from a unreliable source, and the pill may or may not work in the end which can be stressful for the person to waste money. I reckon people think fruits and vegetables may not be tasty so they go for a pill which says it will make the brain better or help do better in all areas of life which may not be true for the majority of people.
I've heard of something like this before. I'm not sure that anyone who falls for this is actually smart. Lol Pharmaceutical companies come up with all sorts of things for people to take. This one takes the cake. Pills that make you smarter? Vivarin is an over the counter type of speed. They're caffeine pills. Thinking and acting quicker might make you choose faster but does it make you smarter if it destroys brain cells? Probably what you are talking about is similar or just a sugar pill effect. Here this will make you smarter. Lol There are so many things that dumb people down that they go for of course they'll make stuff like this. Keep watching endless hours of TV and eating junk food. You can just take a pill that will make you smarter.
