Has anyone started suboxone maintenance after the withdrawals were almost over? I've been waiting 5 days for an appointment and using a butrans patch to help. Will they still start me on suboxone even though I'm almost through the physical withdrawls? I really want to try it for maintenance. I'm tired of this roller coaster.

I took suboxone for a couple years and it's obviously better than hitti g the streets for heroin and pills. But I have been told it is harder to quit (for some people, but not me personally) than opiates. I finally got tired of swapping one thing for the next and being dependant on substances. So my advice is to try and get off everything if possible. If not, then do what you do. I'm sure you can find a doctor that will prescribe whatever you want if you tell them the right thing. Good luck.

@crystaljb... My son took Suboxone and was weaned off of it by his addiction doctor over time. It really helped him and I think it probably helped save his life.

Good luck, my friend. Let us know how things go for you.
