Are any of you previous addicts that underwent surgery post-addiction? Were you afraid that you may become addicted again? What were steps that you took to ensure that you would not become addicted again? If you were prescribed medication (such as percocet, vicodin, etc.) after surgery, did you take it? Did you talk to your doctor about your history of addiction? If you didn't, why not? Do you even feel comfortable talking to your doctor about addiction or do you prefer forums such as this one to answer your questions? Did you become addicted again? What do you think caused you to become addicted again?

Also, what other forums do you look to for advice/guidance on topics such as this one?

Also, if you didn't take the prescribed medication for pain management, did you take another medication instead? Which one did you take and why did you choose that particular one? Do you perform any non pharmacological interventions for pain management?
