I heard of a case recently where a teen used synthetic marijuana and died. I personally feel that synthetic marijuana is much more dangerous that marijuana.

Does your city/town have ordinances against selling synthetic marijuana in smoke shops? My town does but the problem is the manufactures/vendors just get around it by changing the chemicals up.

Yes, I have heard of a few cases now of people dying from repeated use of synthetic marijuana. I don't think it's available in my city anywhere but a short trip to the next city and you would probably find some. Synthetic cannabis is also MUCH more dangerous than real marijuana. I recently met someone who is an ex-heroin addict but was addicted to the synthetic weed, he said the withdrawal symptoms were much worse than the withdrawal symptoms from heroin and were unbearable but his body and mind just wouldn't function properly unless he smoked it - real marijuana wouldn't do it for him any more. He seemed in a very bad way.

Burn all synthetic cannabis, i tell you! It's no different than GMO foods and other lab created defected garbage.

Historically, there is no known case of humans dying from cannabis or hemp use ever; it's possibly one of the most safest flora growing on Earth. Also, marijuana is a Legalese term and is not the same in meaning as cannabis or hemp, and can you tell the difference: the words are spelled differently.

I believe the synthetic marijuana is much more dangerous that marijuana, too. It is modified and no longer as natural as that marijuana. There can be additional unknown effects which deteriorates human body.

I think any synthetic drug is worse than the natural one. Marijuana has some decent health properties when utilised correctly but the synthetic is just incense and should never be consumed. I don't think it should be sold but in my state it is sold over the counter at any smoke shop. Its horrible.

It is. I advise everyone to stay away from it.

From what I've heard (which is not that much really), synthetic marijuana is made by taking buds from any similar plants and then spraying them with a mixture of dangerous toxic aerosols. So, effectively, users are just inhaling aerosol fumes - the rest is just useless plant matter. That's definitely not healthy, they may aswell just and buy aerosols or some glue.

I feel the same way. To me, all these copy cat drugs are way more dangerous than their original counterparts because we at least already know of the effects of the original ones. It's why I'm an advocate of decriminalizing these substances at the very least so people would at least not have to risk their lives so much.

It's ridiculous isn't it? I don't know about where you are but around here the synthetic/fake option is a lot cheaper and of course is a choice when the real stuff runs dry. Weed is now more expensive than gold around here (per gram)!

How sad is this that kids are killing themselves in pursuit of something that should already be legal. The really sad and disturbing part is that the legal system is doing nothing about it. Because the synthetic drugs are legal and will always remain legal all because of the simple label "Not for Human Consumption" This little loophole lets these criminals get away with it. The problem above all is how a cop can arrest you for having a tobacco pipe (even if youve never used drugs) because its drug paraphernalia yet they have no power over and actual substance that kills.

Being arrested for being in possession of drug paraphernalia is something I'm curious about. The reason being because Shisha has become a popular choice in this area, instead of tobacco or weed and because it's legal (and doesn't get you high). However, Shisha is smoked through a Shisha pipe, which is essentially just a bong - both the bongs and Shisha are sold legally in the shops... so, can someone be arrested for being in possession of a Shisha pipe? (my stepson just bought one!).

Synthetic marijuana is VERY dangerous. In my school we had an assembly in which a firefighter/paramedic with the city Fire department came in and spoke to us about a case in which two teens were brain dead and needed emergency procedures to be done. It is extremely bad to the body and may cause some serious damage.

Oh boy, from what I just read from the internet, this is bad stuff. It is no longer naturally grown it is now produced chemically and can lethal.

Should be banned! Should had never been created! My brother almost lost his life unknowingly smoking synthetic marijuana. And I also seen someone completely lose their mind after smoking it. It literally kills people slowly destroying their organs.

Yes you can because even though they are sold legally as tobacco pipes they are still used for drug consumption as paraphernalia. Ive seen people get arrested coming out of smoke shops with glass pipes and bongs because of these laws. So be careful now this may not apply to all areas and states but its true for NY and from what some cop buddies have told me its holds true in many states. It still falls under the cops discretion like most things that involve the law. If the officer is a nice and understanding person you might just get a warning or slap on the wrist.

I am actually not familiar with synthetic marijuana and sorry to know about what happened to the teen.
Marijuana is considered as illegal drugs in here so, synthetic or not, it is illegal. I think it is just right to be illegal since it has side effects and prone for abuse.

This is pretty much what I would have thought. However, in my opinion, if this indeed the case then I believe that shops should not be legally allowed to sell such paraphernalia. I guess it's a similar problem to synthetic marijuana in that shops say it's not intended for human consumption - they can make similar claims in order to justify their paraphernalia sales.

I've never heard of it. I live in a somewhat liberal college town, so marijuana is quite easy to come across. However, from a little research and judging by it, I feel like it is much more dangerous than normal marijuana with no additional benefits whatsoever, aside from higher profits for the dealers. Other synthetic drugs, come to mind, such as Krokodil. Definitely avoid the synthetic stuff, it is not worth your life.

The problem with purchasing synthetic cannabinoids is that they are labeled as "not for human consumption." Because they aren't labeled for human consumption, the companies aren't required to add dosage or chemical information. When people buy the pre-made blends, they have absolutely no idea which synthetic cannabinoid(s) is in the blend, how much of it is in there, and how evenly the dose was distributed. Some synthetic cannabinoids require a much smaller dose than others, so smoking a bowl of one blend isn't going to the the same as smoking a bowl of another blend.

If you're going to use synthetic cannabinoids, you might as well use them in a way that reduces harm. A much safer way of using them would be to purchase the pure, powdered cannabinoids, dissolve them into a solvent while fine-tuning the ratio to fit the dose that you want, and evenly distribute the dose on your carrier plant (damiana, tobacco, etc.)

Synthetic Marijuana is the worst you are just inhaling fake products that you can make for yourself that is very dangerous you do not want to go through that.
