If you were referred to a therapist after or during treatment, have you remained meeting with the therapist even after completing your program? I know the mentality in treatment centers is often graduating out of them, but I think sometimes continuing outpatient therapy once released into the real world can be very beneficial. It's so good to have a line of communication open that is unbiased, and it's also great to have someone to call so that you don't end up calling an old friend from when you were using that may influence a relapse.

I have been in therapy for almost ten years. Yeah, I know, that's a LONG time! But I chose to continue therapy for all of these years, because I truly believe that it helps me cope with everyday life and it helps me keep my life manageable and free of negative ties that were holding me back in the darkness before.
