I have tried coke a couple of times and really didn't like or dislike it. I was drinking, but remember sobering up after snorting and thinking 'I just spent $50 on drinks and don't even have a buzz". I don't get what all the hype is about. Anyone else have similar experience? I think it's a huge waste of money.
Well I would have walked out of the environment you were in. I do not believe in drinking all that booze and using drugs. I was raised to believe that the substance abuse is not pleasant and deterring from it is a wonderful thing. I have been completely sober and I would like it to remain that way.
You are absolutely right, drug abuse is a terrible thing, but use in moderation can actually be quite pleasant.
That's good. That means you have no reason whatsoever to ever go back to it or to ever try it again. Most people who go back to it are usually just trying to chase the buzz they got the first time but never manage to find it. Absolutely a waste of money... and health.
I just cannot be in that light when it comes to drugs. I see that many people do it for freedom. I do not consider abuse as a freedom it is a hell hole that some people would live to tell about.
I had a buddy that tried coke a few times. By his accounts he said that using coke while taking shots, you won't get drunk. The cocaine will actually nullify the the buzz from the alcohol. It sounds right to me. Coke is a upper, and alcohol is the opposite. By his word he said he had so many shots of tequila and didn't feel a alcohol buzz at all.
It's sort of like drinking a lot of coffee when you are drunk - it doesn't make you less drunk, it just makes you more hyper while you are drunk. Doing any sort of speed while drinking is a bad idea because it makes you feel like you're more on top of things than you really are. That's actually what caused the uproar over Four Loco malt beverages a few years ago - not only are the much stronger than your typical malt beverage (around 14% alcohol compared to beer which is between 4-7%), but the original formula was loaded with caffeine and other stimulants. Young folks were getting really sick off of them because they didn't realize how drunk they were getting due to all the stimulants in them. One of my very first times doing cocaine, I bought a bag for $25 and had no idea how many "lines" I was supposed to get out of it. It didn't look like much, so I went out to my car and dumped the whole thing out and snorted it all at once - then went back into the bar with my friends and proceeded to suck down about three tall Long Island iced teas (they were served in large carafes) within about a 40 min time span before they finally did last call. Within an hour I started turning white as a ghost and sweating like crazy and thought I was going to have to be taken to a hospital. When the cocaine started to wear off, I had drank way too much liquor at once and started blacking out - not a fun situation at all. My friends had to basically babysit me in the parking lot for another hour or so until I came to and started to regain my composure.
Speaking to your first point, sometimes people are snorting coke in order to be able to drink more & not feel drunk. It's less of a negative to them & more a feature. You should consider yourself lucky that coke doesn't appeal to you. It's an expensive &, potentially, dangerous addiction. So, look at the loss of the fifty dollars that day as a gain of whatever you would have spent on coke daily.
I wish I hadn't liked coke the first time I tried it. Unfortunately, I did and ended up with a pretty big habit. Thankfully, I've not been near the stuff for eight years now. I've known a lot of people say that coke didn't do a thing for them - maybe there's something in our make-ups which predisposes us to like it - who knows?
I have tried it and also didn't like it very much, I only tried a little bump on the tip of a key so probably didn't get the full effect. I am pretty high energy naturally so maybe that's why there was no noticeable difference in my behavior or attitude. Coke is not really my thing.
Well this is a good thing you didn't like it too much because cocaine is a very addictive drug. Alot of people get hooked after a few tries and it never turns out to be a good thing. Its not only a waste of money, its a waste of your life by doing cocaine.
Well I have never even seen cocaine in real life so I don't know. It is a good thing that your body reacted with a dislike for it because I have read the stories and seen the videos of people who became addicted to cocaine and it is not a pretty sight.
All it does, is get you high maybe but the money to buy it costs a bit and will slowly realize it is not right as it effects the health and brain function and how you think and changes like self confidence and may think it is good in the early days. The drug is not worth your life, and it is good you came away from it and, realized it is a waste and not like how the media or movies portray it to be. Some people use it to escape problems and also, think it is a good way to do it but the problems are still there and not solved from taking this drug.
It's actually a good thing that you didn't experience anything from trying it. It does give you a rush (or so I've heard), but it doesn't typically last that long and it's easy to get hooked onto that feeling. I wouldn't recommend trying it anymore, there are some things in this world that are much better for you than cocaine. In fact, even though alcohol isn't exactly safe either, it's probably a better alternative as well. Take it easy. Akiyama
To me, Cocaine is a big no. I've heard many things about Cocaine, how it's addicting, EXPENSIVE and very bad for you. I have seen multiple people doing it and they claim that it's good and it gives you that rush nothing else gives but personally, I won't even touch it. If Cocaine isn't the thing for you, then great because it's not for everyone. Don't feel pressured to do it just to blend in, if you don't like it then don't do it.
Different people just have different tastes in everything, including substances. I think there's probably just a handful of substances that are strong enough to appeal the same way to most, but mostly I think it's just like everything else wherein some people will like it, some people won't, some people will be able to handle it, while some people will abuse it.
I guess you should just be thankful you didn't get addicted to it. Same here, I don't think drugs like coke should be glorified. It will never do good to anyone.
It is really about the dopamine with coke. I've tried it a couple times, and since I got REALLY aggressive both times, I kinda try to stay away from it nowadays, but if I were to be in a safe enviroment with friends I trust, I'd probably try it again.
Mixing any kind of drugs can be asking for trouble, taking cocaine and drinking at the same time can be a lethal combination, with a lot of people all the cocaine does is take away the beer 'buzz', but there's also quite a few people (and i've seen from experience) that can end up out of control when they're mixing coke with alcohol. Personally I've tried cocaine a few times and have never seen what all the fuss is about either to be honest, the feeling was good fair enough but its not something that I'd want to get used to, especially not at that price, well at any price if I'm honest...it just want that good.
It is a good thing that you did not like it, it saved you from all the trouble that you would have had to go throught especially if you became highly addicted, for those who spend money on alcohol, I do not blame them, because that is the high they enjoy, instead of getting crazily high on hard drugs.
