Hey there Sonia. Im glad you found this forum. About this time last year my first post on here was very similar to what you have just said.
I was on Buprenorphine for a couple years after the methadone didn't work for me. I am a recovering heroin addict among other substances but opiates have always been my go to.
I was scared, terrified actually of all the horror stories I had read about and just didn't want to stop. I have just reached a year a little while ago now and I was a bad case. It can be done, and there are ways to help manage w/ds. Suboxone w/d's are tricky, a bit different that a full agonist.
Can you tell us what does your currently on? A little more background will help to be able to give you the best advice. Hope to hear from you soon and don't worry.
You want off so your halfway there already.

@Sonia hello and welcome. As @Joshstillclean has said. Can you give us some history here? If you are getting the subs from a clinic can you ask for a taper? This is the best way to get off of any opiates. Some people do go cold turkey but I don't recommend that. If you do, it only lasts for a week. Congratulations on coming here and reaching out.

I see one still, he's more of a counselor than my sub doctor now but I found him through a crisis helpline. I know that you can Google addiction help for your specific area and come up with many resources. I'm not sure where you are but here in Atlanta there are several sub doctors. 4 methadone clinics with counseling that I know of, and social services can help you access the kind of help you need based on income. I be live there is even a link on this site as to where to find help.
I know when its fresh and your just starting it can seem like there isn't any help to be found anywhere but take heart, help is everywhere.
By the way, this site is just full of people who specialize in addiction.
So if you ever want to talk were here.

@Sonia... Have you asked the doctor you see for your Suboxone to help you with a taper plan? That would seem like the best place to start, IMO. As far as an addiction specialist goes... If you're in the United States, you can search for an addiction specialist by using the "Find a Doctor" tool on the American Board of Addiction Medicine's website. Just go to the link below and put in your zip code.

I'm really proud of you for wanting to get off of Sub. Like @Joshstillclean said, you want off, so you're already halfway there!

Keep coming back here, okay? We'll help and support you however we can. And you can always vent here if you need to. :)

Ok I'm back is that 2 mg strips or tablets cause that's important.
And is that 2 mg in a 24 hour period?
