What TV shows do you like to watch when you are in need of a quick pick-me-up, encouragement and/or inspiration?

Me, I like to watch the Cosby Show for a quick pick-me-up and inspiration. I always finish smiling. :D Bill and Claire are so positively funny.

Scrubs is my go to show for some honest and sincere human sentiment. Even though a lot of the aspects of that show is exaggerated, I find that most of the subtle nuances are often very accurate, especially when it comes to human hardships and relationships. I like it for being fun and quirky without going overboard and I also love them for the sincerity in their dramatic conflicts.

Me too I also love to watch the cosby show. I also don't mind watching snooki and jwow. Even though it is a lam stereotypical show I think some of the things they do and say are hilarious. They are just trying to have some fun and I love following them!

Bill Cosby has been alleged to be sexually harassed a few women, and I personally never liked the show or him - he's annoying and condescending.

TV shows that inspired me are The Prisoner, The Simpsons, Married With Children, Futurama, Animaniacs [specifically Pinky and The Brain], Superman Animation Series, Batman Animation Series, Bob Ross, and a whole bunch of other shows; too many. Inspiration comes from anything and is limitless in effect to an individual, because it's root of influence stem from one's attitudinal response to experiences.

I have stopped watching TV about 5 years ago. I simply got tired of the multitude of meaningless reality shows and endless advertisements. But if I had to watch a program on TV to lift me up, I would opt for the documentary channel. For me it's not so much about cheering myself up, but rather changing my focus, steering away from the things that are bothering me.

DOCTOR WHO, because the stories (in past seasons ... the jury's still out on this season with Peter Capaldi as The Doctor with the companion Clara Oswald, played by the hot-hot-hot ... Jenna Louise-Coleman) sort of serve as a reminder that we each serve 'God' (though the show never mentions 'God,' you can tell that The Doctor's purpose is to help the forces-of-good thrive) perfectly when our efforts are put together with/against the efforts of all others.

I suppose I should give some background: DOCTOR WHO is a BBC-television series about an alien (from the planet Gallifrey) who took a timewarp-spaceship (called a TARDIS) from that planet as it was obliterated from the universe (he thought it was destroyed, but he went back in time &--with the 12 other incarnations of himself, as his race of aliens are known to regularly die-&-regenerate--saved it in a pocket-in-time kept in a painting in a national museum of England).

For 900 years-or-so, he traveled through time & -space before he came to Earth. Coming to Earth, he admired the human spirit ... enough to regularly save the world several times with no thanks given (another way the show instills hope---kinda reminds us that WE ARE WORTH SAVING).

The new show on ABC called "Selfie" looks utterly ridiculous, but it has a lot of warm humor and surprisingly deep lessons about learning that you can become better everyday and deserve better things in life.

Ok, I know this is kinda of corny, but I love Christmas shows and or movies. When I watch a Christmas movie, It just makes my smile! I love the Santa Claus movies- 1, 2,3., Elf, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, and many more...I also love to listen to Christmas music. My mood can totally change for the good in the matter of minutes.

I seldom watch movies nowadays, what I usually watch are news and documentaries.
There are some documentaries about real life challenges that are really inspiring. Like those who are able to finished their students even they are disabled or not finally able. I also find the show "Undercover Boss" inspiring and motivational.

She (Karen Gillan) was a DOCTOR WHO Companion---Amy Pond, who became The Doctor's mother-in-law when she & Rory (Arthur Darvill) conceived his wife going full-speed in The Doctor's time-travel spaceship!

And John Cho was "Harold" of Harold & Kumar-Escape from Guantanamo Bay & -Go to White Castle (like Neil Patrick Harris--who had a cameo in -White Castle--will never 'not have been' "Dougie Hauser M.D."--John Cho will never 'not have been' "Harold of 'Harold & Kumar'")

I am not sure it's inspiring but one of my favorite sitcoms is "The Middle". It's about a family living in the mid-west. I like the show because they remind of a family I could actually know. The house isn't perfect, there is a mess on the counters, the parents both work, they aren't well off, the kids are kind of goofy but the parents accept their kids just as they are and they always show them working through issues as a family. It's just nice to watch a show that seems so normal and I can actually relate to!

I really feel good when I watch '8 Simple Rules". It is not even that good of a show but just a view of what so many parents go through and dealing with problems and at the same time loving their children so much.

I watch superhero shows/movies. I use to watch a lot of smallville, the stories of a young superman going through life before putting on the tights. You can watch his battles and inner conflicts with doing what is right, with his great power. He could of easily turned for the worse because of temptation. But through family and friends he overcomes and becomes the beacon of light that every knows he will become.

I'm not a fan of TV shows. My husband and I go for movies instead. I can't particularly pick a movie or movies that give me a good mood. But movies that make me relax my mind are my go-to movies. So I usually go for comedy or inspirational true-to-life or even fictional films. I've just recently watched St. Vincent and I loved it! It is funny and at the same time encouraging to do good to others. It makes you somehow understand other people's moods and behavior.

And yes, even the videos on social experiments that show how some people share, do good to others and the like, make me so motivated and feel good about people in general.

Comedies are always uplifting for me, once I get a good laugh things turn around a bit. My favorite is Raven maybe because I am oftentimes told that I look like her too.

They say laughter is the best medicine, and I believe it. One show that literally has me laughing out loud when I watch it is Big Bang Theory. I don't know how anyone could keep from laughing at that show. It's hilarious, and it's long running with lots of episodes, so there's plenty more laughs available.

I'm not much of a tv kind of person, I prefer movies and documentaries. I love watching any kind of nature show narrated by David Attenborough. His voice is so calming and being able to see all the beauty and diversity in the world is very inspiring and uplifting to me. Many are available to watch on youtube.

Being that I am a big tv and movie buff I watch a lot of stuff. But these help both pick me up and inspire me.

    The Big Bang Theory
    Arrow
    Game of Thrones
    The Walking Dead
    Defiance
    The Agents of Shield
    Person of Interest

Now if you want to watch a movie that will make you laugh her butt off when you are feeling down.... try this one. I love this film, it is hilarious.
