Take a deep breath! You don't say how long you've been on the percocets but I will say I have seen people withdraw from a LOT larger doses than this and manage it quite well. You may indeed feel sick but I wouldn't expect it to be that much worse than the symptoms you describe you are already having. A HUGE part of it is a mental thing so try to find other ways to find support and reduce stress right now! Best of luck!
It sounds like you are managing it. I think just keep on doing what you are doing. Probably if you were going to be sick you would have been by now, so I think what you are doing is good. I am no expert though...maybe some of the othre people on this panel would have more insight into this. Congrats for quitting though!
I'm going to give you a bit of unorthodox advice, usually people say don't wean yourself with another substance. But, recently I've started using Kava-Kava root for stress. As you mentioned in your post you have a high pressure job. Obviously, I'm not trying to sell you anything and won't link to anything. It's very mild and has helped me tons with living life without pain killers. It won't get you high or anything like that, anymore than a cup of coffee (but not the same effect at all just speaking solely on strength), it's completely natural and comes in many forms. It's considered a herbal supplement, you can buy it at health stores or Amazon. Just do some Google searching, talk to your doctor (if you see one) and see if it's something that fits your lifestyle. Again, it won't get you high like pain killers but does help a lot with stress, especially those of us that used to be dependent of a chemical for stress relief. I would also suggest going to 2 a day and then just 1, weaning slowly is the best way to stop those awful withdrawls. I know that feeling all too well. I wish you the best of luck!
Take a warm bath and do some rhythmic breathing paired with a lower dosage so you can taper off your percocet usage. You may feel under the weather as you lower the dosage, but that is a lot better than feeling okay for a few days then terrible when you run out. The stress you are feeling is all in the mind and can be eased with the exercise above. I hope you are doing alright and trust me, you can get through this! You just have to believe in yourself. Good luck, I am cheering you on!
Don't worry, I know you got everything that takes to beat this I went through something similar with a medication, I start cutting my own doses myself. Then I kept on cutting my doses little by little, and in the end I even had leftovers. Now I am not advising you to take the same route I did, but I am just saying things are not as bad as you think Don't worry, you will be fine, you need to relax and realize you are not having really bad side effects as it is right now. I'm sure everything will be fine, you are doing just great already!
Hey lynda, In my experience with using drugs to keep the energy levels up I hadn't realized that I became so focused on the drugs themselves I lost track in enjoying other activities in my life. A way that helped me wean from my drug was going for walks. I started walking as a way to clear my head and kinda "push" myself onto the next part of my day and this really helped. I noticed my metabolism speed up and it was like the affects of the drugs were wearing off. I think you should give this a try and see if you like it, and if you have loved ones to enjoy these walks with it can be a really fun time.
How are you doing, Lynda? I hope things went as planned. If you are still around could you give an update? I hope you were successful! If not, we are here to support you if you need us. I look forward to hearing from you!
