Opiate withdrawal symptoms can intensify at night when one is sleeping resulting in sweating, insomnia and other discomforts. To ameliorate this, a recovering addict can be sucked into a secondary addiction by taking sleep inducing drugs like piriton and soon finds himself addicted to them which would herald a fresh headache.
