Since I've been in recovery and also thru the years. I've been in out patient therapy in patient therapy.
I been talking to other people that are in OP therapy and they are giving them certain meds to help them with depression anxiety bipolar ect. Without really diagnosing them with these disorders.
Has anyone stopped to take a look at what they're giving us?
Well I have and I'd rather go back on opiates then take the medications that they have tried to give me in the past few years.
If you are taking medications prescribed by your medical doctor or psychiatrist . Be cautious ask questions find out what the side effects are. also make sure you're getting the right diagnosis.
I bring this up because the two medications this psychiatrist gave me last week one of them was recalled in 2010 and there is a lawsuit against the company for misrepresenting this medication. so why is this psychiatrist prescribing it to me!!!!! He said it would help me with my migraines. Well the lawsuit was about that it's not supposed to be represented as a pain reliever.
And the other medication is for high blood pressure and I have low blood pressure. This was to help me sleep well I almost didn't wake up. I was a zombie for 2 days until I stopped taking these terrible medications.

I hope these doctors are trying to help us and not trying to put us in an early grave just be cautious asked questions doctors are human too and there's so many medications out there that they can't keep up. Drug companies telling them what to give us. I feel like I've been experimented on in the past 4 years.
    Just another FYI

I lucked out with my psychiatrist, he's an addictionologist. And he plainly told me one day that some(not saying yours) Drs will experiment on know drug addicts because our bodies tend to bounce back from bad combos quick, and we generally just have a higher "death threshold" when it comes to meds. He told me to run all meds I get by him before I take them. And I do. And I research them myself.
In fact he usually asks me when I see him if he's prescribed me something new what the side effects are. He actually tests me!
I wish everybody had a dr like him. He really is good and he flat out is not liked by a lot of other Drs in the medical field.
I'm sure glad your ok. Blood pressure meds can kill you quick. Thanks for the heads up.
Good to hear from you too.

Thanks. I wish I did have your Dr. This is like the third one in the past few years and I can't seem to find one that understands. Also the stigma arnd being a heroin addict.
He made me feel ashamed and talked down to me. So I looked him up I wanted to know who this Dr is and how the hell he made psychiatrist of the year.
I found something really interesting and I can't wait to sit across from him again.

Im sick of having a Scarlet letter tattooed to my forehead. Im sick of this category that people seem to put us in.
I been out of the game 4 years now that's my past I can't change that. I radically accepted a lot I can't change. but I don't need to be looked upon like I'm permanently damaged goods and there's no hope for me.
This I want to change. I'm tired of seeing and hearing stories from people that say if I wasn't high I wouldn't have been raped or the many people that I know get diagnosed from one office visit and put on medications they shouldn't be on like some lab experiment. I'm seeing way too much of it.
Something needs to change we need to wake up.
I'm sorry I needed to vent.
Glad your doing good josh. Been a while.

Vent away. If you found some dirty laundry in his closet there's no way id let that drop after he talked down to you.
What gets me is there is no stigma around oxycontin addiction. In fact the media practically makes you feel sorry for these people while heroin on the other hand, its only smoked in back allies and banged in dirty public bathrooms.
Man, everybody likes oxycontin better. Its just too damn expensive once you get a real habit. So why the stigma?
I will never be able to answer that. I think I've mentioned on here before that by dope guy is actually a girl(woman), and WAS a good looking one too. And she lives in a very upper class neighborhood in upper west side Atlanta.
I wish the media would follow me around to all the hot spits where I used to get dope. Yeah o ended up in allies and stuff, that's where unsold it to make my money back.
But I bought it from multi millionaires.
Media doesn't show that part. There are a lot of people hooked on heroin with heated indoor pools and stuff. Why aren't they on the news...

Doctors are still too quick to prescribe meds for people. The world can't be fixed with RX meds, people. Sure, there are meds out there that are incredible and life-saving. But there's a lot of garbage out there that doctors use as a crutch (benzos come to mind). I think people need more instruction on how to deal with life on life's terms, and on alternate ways to deal with things like anxiety. Just my $0.02.
